Mara in danger: 'Some animals refuse to drink from the river'

This is the title of an article written by a fella, George Roumeguer, intimately involved in the situation of the Mara River.  George runs the Dawntodusk Foundation and is deeply involved in conservation issues within the Maasai Mara Region.  See the article here:

Quote from article: "We must start confronting some of the pressing issues and provide people with workable alternatives or we are all going to lose.

The positive side of it is that we can also turn things the other way and make the Mara a showcase for how people and wildlife can live together and benefit from each other."

Good article, BUT who is the WE he is mentioning? If it wasn't for the Mara Conservancy and all they have done in the past, I think the Mara definitely would be in worst shape. With NO Government funding, the tourist population declining, camps being built after they were told NOT to, a ZOO trying to be erected, I fear that the Mara is in real danger. Animals refusing to drink from the River is another sure sign of things to come.

Thanks for your postings by the way, I have been out of touch on your blog recently.
