Where Were You When Obama Won the Election?

We were in the Masai Mara National Reserve.  Here we are, listening to his speech on our cell phone...in the middle of the reserve.  Thankfully, a friend of ours in Nairobi called us as Obama began to speak to the world and he put his cell phone up to the television in Nairobi so we could listen in the Masai Mara.

I was home in Phoenix, Arizona USA. I'd rather have been 'in the Mara' listening to the results over a cell phone tho! :>) No matter where I was - the outcome is what I prayed for!!

Hi Amanda

I was on the other side of the border in Awassa, Ethiopia for our Ethiopia bird education project. I got up at 5AM waiting for the results but I had to leave for the field at 5:30. As I was leaving, they called Virginia for Obama and I knew it was a done deal. At 7AM, our driver Sisay, who was in Addis that day, called to give us the good news

Went to our neighborhood polling location at 7 AM with my pink shirt on with the word "Obama" written across a tootsie roll & the line: "That's How I Roll" underneath it. It was a definite pizza night & glued our TV set showing CHI-Town's Grant Park & getting the breaking news PST!!
