That's right, we have hyenas hanging out in our front yard during the evenings. We didn't see them or hear them...but we found this:

You can tell it is from a hyena because it is sausage shaped and is white. Hyenas digest bone fragments so that makes their pooh white (it could have also been from a dehydrated lion but we're pretty sure it was a hyena).

Here is a picture of a hyena we saw in the Masai Mara last week.

They have always been known as wily scavengers but they are also very good to take down ungulates. Thankfully we don't look anything like ungulates...and they don't have opposable thumbs so they can't work the door knob at our stone cottage. :)
