Angry Elephants

A few weeks back, we were sampling one of our small springs just outside of the Masai Mara when Amanda said, "CHRIS...ELEPHANTS!". I turned around and saw this herd coming through the bushes about 20 meters away from us. They were walking right down the stream. The larger elephants flared their ears at us and one of them trumpeted. They kept heading straight for us so we quickly and quietly left the stream and hopped into the vehicle. Once we were in the vehicle, they didn't seem to care about us. They went on their way and we went back to business.

After they got out of the bushes and into the open, we saw why they were a bit edgy....they had two babies that they were protecting. You can see just a bit of the babies above the bush line.
